Hello again, everyone!

It’s been a few months since our last update, and we’ve been hard at work behind the scenes. We’ve learned a lot during that time, and today I’m excited to share where we’ve been and what’s next for our team. In our previous update, we talked about shifting focus to smaller projects, and I’m happy to say that this decision has breathed new life into our team. We’re more motivated than ever, and we have some exciting news to share about our latest project.

A Farewell to Quick Smith

As many of you know, Quick Smith has been a project close to our hearts for a long time. We poured a lot of creativity and energy into making it, but after careful consideration, we’ve decided it’s time to officially bring that chapter to a close. While the game remains playable and offers a solid co-op experience, it grew larger than we could realistically handle as an indie team without external support. We’re proud of what we achieved, but we want to focus on projects that are more aligned with our current goals. If you're interested you can find Quick Smith and all our other projects on our itch page: https://elementalglyphstudio.itch.io/ all our games are free to download and play.

We’ve taken the lessons learned from Quick Smith and applied them to new ideas, and that brings us to our next exciting step—Project Nocturnal.

Introducing Project Nocturnal

In light of the challenges we’ve faced, we’ve shifted our approach toward smaller, more manageable projects that still provide fun and engaging experiences for players. Project Nocturnal is a 2D top-down survival game with roguelike elements, and it’s already sparking a lot of creativity within the team. While we’re keeping many of the details under wraps for now, I can say that we’ve found a way to blend genres in a way that feels fresh and exciting.

This project is not only smaller in scope but more aligned with what we love most about game development: creating fun mechanics that challenge and reward players, all while keeping things simple yet deep. We’re already enjoying the design process and can’t wait to share more with you in the future. It’s been a blast diving into world-building and narrative, crafting a story that evolves alongside the player’s exploration.

Lessons in Game Development

Since the last update, we’ve continued to learn and grow. We’ve realized that smaller objectives keep us motivated and help us maintain momentum. We’ve also embraced a “fail faster” mindset—making mistakes, learning from them, and moving forward with a better understanding of what works. The game jam experience taught us that scaling back isn’t a limitation; it’s a way to focus on the core of what makes a game fun.

This approach has not only improved our workflow but also made the development process more enjoyable. We’re no longer bogged down by overwhelming features and can concentrate on making each mechanic meaningful.

What’s Next

As we move forward with Project Nocturnal, we’ll be sharing more updates and sneak peeks. We’re excited to keep this momentum going, and we’re committed to engaging more with our community—something we promised in our last post and are eager to deliver on. Stay tuned for more teasers, and be sure to check out our other projects on itch.io in the meantime.

Thank you again for sticking with us on this journey. We’re excited for what’s ahead, and we can’t wait to bring you along for the ride.
